Survive, REVIVE, Thrive! BIPOC Stress Management Group

A 6-Session Support Group Experience

You’re not broken. You’re responding to systems that weren’t built for you.
This group is a space to name that truth—and to build tools for care, regulation, and collective resilience. This is an intentional culturally grounded support group for BIPOC folks navigating chronic stress, burnout, and survival pressure. Together, we’ll explore how stress shows up in our bodies and minds, where it comes from, and how to respond in ways that honor our lived experience—not erase it. This is not about “fixing” yourself.
It’s about reclaiming rest, building capacity, and remembering you don’t have to carry everything alone.

What Makes This Group Different

  • Culturally grounded & anti-racist — Stress is understood in its social, historical, and systemic context
  • Trauma-informed — Emphasis on choice, safety, consent, and empowerment
  • Strengths-based — Honors collective wisdom, resilience, and survival knowledge
  • Body-based & relational — Combines discussion, reflection, somatic tools, and peer support

You are always invited—not required—to participate in ways that feel right for you.

What You’ll Gain

  • Language to understand racialized and chronic stress (and stop blaming yourself)
  • Practical, accessible tools to regulate your nervous system
  • Greater awareness of how stress lives in your body and mind
  • Supportive reframes for internalized pressure and survival beliefs
  • A sense of connection, validation, and shared understanding

Course Format

  • 6 weekly sessions
  • 90 minutes each
  • Small, supportive group setting (5 participants per group)
  • Group agreements include: confidentiality, non-judgment, speaking from “I,” stepping up/stepping back, honoring lived experience, and permission to rest

Session Highlights

Session 1: Naming the Stress — “It’s Not Just You”

Understand BIPOC stress in context, normalize stress responses, and build group trust. Explore racialized stress, microaggressions, and intergenerational resilience.

Session 2: The Body Remembers — Somatic Stress Skills

Learn how stress lives in the nervous system and practice gentle, accessible body-based tools for regulation and rest.

Session 3: Mind Stress — Internalized Pressure & Survival Beliefs

Identify and unlearn harmful narratives like “I have to work twice as hard” and build self-compassion that fits culturally and collectively.

(Sessions 4–6 continue building on these foundations, integrating skills, reflection, and collective care. All sessions incorporate group discussion.)

Who This Group Is For

  • BIPOC adults experiencing chronic stress, burnout, or emotional exhaustion
  • Folks navigating racism-related stress, workplace pressure, or survival mode
  • People looking for community-based support—not individual self-optimization

No prior experience with mindfulness, somatics, or group work is needed.
